SABARS – Situation Awareness Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scale
SABARS is a behavioral measure that provides a useful companion to objective measures such as SAGAT. Using SABARS, an observer rates an individuals various behaviors that have been identified as important for developing high levels of situation awareness in their area of expertise. Key information is gained on the methods and strategies that an operator is using and the way they are thinking to achieve successful outcomes and performance for a specific function. SABARS has been used to measure the behaviors of infantry officers and platoon leaders.
