Virtual Environment Situation Awareness Rating System (VESARS)
VESARS collects data on a person’s situation awareness during scenarios in a virtual reality simulator. Feedback is then provided to demonstrate where situation awareness may be weak and how to fine tune the processes being used to gather and interpret information.
VESARS includes objective measures of situation awareness such as SAGAT and Real-time Probes, as well as measures of the processes and communications techniques being employed. Developed for the Army Research Institute for small team operations, VESARS is expanding into other areas including Navy and Federal Law Enforcement training.
